Territory Psychology is a private practice clinic which was established in 2018 and registered as a company in the Northern Territory in 2019. Territory psychology has a team consisting of highly qualified and experienced Psychologists who provide evidence-based practice to the Northern Territory Community. The clinical team strives to assist those who obtain services to increase their personal growth, problem-solving capacity, and decision making abilities within both their occupational and personal lives. The team has experience in the use of evidence-based modalities of CBT, ACT, solution focused therapy, interpersonal process and psychodynamic principals.
The current predominant focuses and area of speciality for the clinical team are of trauma, PTSD and Moral injury predominantly with the Veteran Population; with training and clinical experience in the use of Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Adaptive Disclosure. However, the competencies, skills, and experiences within the team reach to working with populations of parents, adolescences, adults, and older persons for high prevalence disorders, anger, substance misuse, gambling, chronic pain, and suicidality and risk.
Further to this the clinic has experience conducting group level training and interventions in areas of: suicide prevention, mental health first aid, promotion of health behaviours, pain management, stress, mindfulness, and relaxation, and anger management.
The scope of practice for Territory Psychology has, to date, been to provide therapeutic intervention to those who work for:
The Australian Defence Force,
Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services,
Insurance agencies, and
Services provided from the Territory Psychology team are conducted in line with APS guidelines, in a professional empathetic, client centred approach in both a face-to-face and telehealth capacity; seeking to improve the trajectory and quality of life of those involved in services.
